January 6, 2015

The last quarter of 2014 was a challenge.  Along with health issues for both my husband and myself, I also had my computer crash.  I lost all my pictures.  Almost twenty years worth.  I watched them disappear before my eyes  Needles to say this was very painful.  I'm not quite sure exactly what happened, but I had them all backed up on a second drive.  They all moved over into a trash bin and I deleted them by accident.  I could not find them or see them.  My Picassa program on my computer went blank and Adobe Elements was deleted in error by someone who had been working on my computer.  I had a computer bug and we were trying to get rid of it.  Eventually the computer needed CPR.  The beginning of December was a sad time.

I looked for old CD's, DVD's and thumb drives.  Anything I had backed up old pictures on.  I found some of the pictures I had lost.  I have always been religious at backing up everything. That is until we had a third party start to work on our computers.  I had about 4,000 pictures so there are a lot to back up.

I decided to take the computer to the Geek Squad at Best Buy.  They backed up what was on my computer and my backup drive.  Then wiped my computer clean and we started all over again.  I added all new program updates and the Geeks added everything that was on my computer prior to the crash back on.  Guess what??  All my pictures were still there!!  Ho-ray!!!  That was one of the best Christmas presents this season.

Tonight I took a look at some of the old pictures from trips taken in the past.  Nothing like living old adventures over again.  I'm so glad I didn't loose these.  I thought I'd share a few with you!

These are both from Canyon Lands National Park in Utah taken during a trip in 2004.  If you have not been there I would highly recommend you make time to see one of the wonders of the world.

I'm so glad I have these pictures to remember the art and beauty of Mother Nature.  She is the ultimate artist!

Good night, it is time for bed.

More adventures will follow....I love adventures, don't you?

Happy New Year!!

Artfully Ann's is re-branding as a company.  Annie the teddy bear is retiring and a new logo has been developed.  The circle rainbow depicts a new beginning of creativity and art.  More adventures are in store for all.  More arts and creations are waiting to come to life.  Just wait and see what come up next.

I just made a 5 ft by 4 ft dog bed for a customer today.  She needed it in a hurry.  It is done, but now the customer has changed her mind. Some times customer's are like that.  You just have to go with the flow.

Soon you will see a beautiful waterproof Big Big dog bed on my site.  It is actually big enough for a small child to sleep on.  It is water proof on both sides and is made of blue denim on one side and forest camo on the other.  One end is secured with industrial Velcro so that you can fill the bed/bag with anything you want...cedar chips, pillows, sleeping bag...etc.  It will be interesting to see who finally buys this nice big waterproof pillow and for what.  It is a work of ART!!  A one of a kind.

Also, I'm knitting myself a sweater with baby alpaca yarn I purchased in Peru.  The back and left side are done.  Should be nice and warm when I'm finished.  Raining and cold today and the rivers here in Washington are at the banks edge.  Actually pretty normal for this time of year.

It is getting late and I'm off to bed.  Hope to keep this blog up more regularly this year.  Sickness in the family stopped things cold for a good part of last year, but everyone is now healthy and we are planning more trips.  YEA!!!!

It is quiet now, but more adventures await.

Good night!
